Private lessons and group lessons are offered through the BFA Extension Division. They are designed for flute students who are not planning on taking serious auditions or becoming professional musicians, but still want to make sure they are receiving the best possible flute instruction. In this program, students practice and progress at their own pace. Recital opportunities are provided for those who are interested.
BFA faculty offer private lessons in six possible locations:
- Framingham, MA
- Downtown Boston (near Symphony Hall)
- Chelmsford, MA
- Jamaica Plain, MA
- Newton Upper Falls, MA
- Maliotis Cultural Center in Brookline, MA
BFA requires an interview and trial lesson to determine the best possible student-teacher match. Acceptance to the private lessons program is not based on musical experience, but rather is determined by level of interest in learning the flute and a positive working relationship between student and teacher. Flutists of all ages and levels are welcome!
